In the last few years, Miranda’s focus has been on oil and acrylic paintings.  She loves different subject matter be it people, still life or landscape.  The essence of painting (or art) to her is to satisfy the curiosity that captures her imagination and to discover its potential.  That, to her, is also the essence of living.

How would she capture a character from someone’s face, a gesture, the light falling across a garden, the dreaminess of a landscape, the warmth of a family gathering or the anguish one feels for a political issue or a war waged? She asks herself what captures her imagination, what are her thoughts and feelings for these subject matters and finds her version of “truth” (her interpretation).

Art to her is the ultimate vessel for the freedom of expression and through this process, one represents the world as one experiences it and the essence of feelings. She draws her inspiration from diverse subject matters.  In the upcoming exhibition at Espacio Gallery between 28th November to 3rd December 2023 (see Exhibitions), she has created a series of underwater paintings to show off the beauty of the sea and its living creatures. She will also bring together a number of her artworks in her political series which touch upon subjects like upheavals in Hong Kong, geopolitical tensions and the Ukraine war.

She studied drawing and painting at the Heatherley’s School of Fine Art and City Lit and she is currently studying Fine Art at the Art Academy, London.
